I want to take you all back to some of the more wintry days this past year with Catherine and Andrew’s snowy-chic wedding in Mocksville, NC. Catherine and Andrew are one of the sweetest couples I have ever worked with. Their love for each other and desire to respect one another was incredibly evident from the moment I met them, and their ceremony highlighted that devotion.
Our planning team met with Catherine, Andrew, mother-of-the-bride Julia, and the officiant the day before their rehearsal dinner to have all of the details ready for the rehearsal as well as a time to bring the couple back to the reason for the entire wedding – to celebrate their love for one another. It was such a special time for them to relax and remember the important things, and was a refreshing meeting both for our team and the couple. We met them at their ceremony site, Advance Methodist Church, where Catherine was going to be a third-generation bride in just a few short days.
Catherine wanted a clean white wedding with lots of greenery and metallic accents. The entire wedding had a fresh feel with bright greens to contrast the monochromatic white theme. The metallic accents provided a sophisticated sparkle to the entire event. It couldn’t have been more beautiful! Her bridesmaids wore all-white, floor-length gowns and were adorned with bright greenery crowns. She created a cozy feel for their look with fur cuffs. Andrew’s groomsmen matched the feel of the maids dressed in black tuxes with white shirts, bow ties, and handkerchiefs. The greenery from the ladies’ crowns was repeated in the men’s boutonnieres with small specks of white florals.
Andrew was dressed in a velvet green blazer complemented by a gray bow tie. His boutonniere was slightly more extravagant than his men having more white florals throughout.
Catherine was a gorgeous bride with a full-skirted gown and lace bodice. She mirrored the maids’ cozy feel with a fur shawl and completed the floral theme with a large green and white bouquet, trimmed in a long velvet ribbon reminiscent of Andrew’s blazer.
I knew Catherine was really hoping for some flurries on her wedding day, and she couldn’t have picked a more perfect weekend! We got her fully prepped and waiting with her father, Robert. With a nervous smile, Catherine tried to remember final details – like which side of her dad she should stand on during the ceremony. We took her on a short, cold walk to the church for her father to escort her into a beautiful ceremony.
It was so perfect! Large snow flakes began to fall during the ceremony, and Catherine and Andrew were able to open the doors of the church after ringing the church bells to one of the most beautiful snowfalls I have ever witnessed. Their excitement was absolutely contagious! J & A photography took advantage of the couple’s fortune and got some gorgeous shots of the couple in the snow. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the way Catherine and Andrew’s snowy-chic wedding turned out!
