We made it!
It’s Friday everyone! For some reason this week has felt incredibly long. I was thinking about what I did last weekend, and I could have sworn it was at least two weeks ago. I love Fridays, so this week I’m celebrating with another Favorites Friday! This time I want to tell you guys about all of my favorite things I use for business. I’m constantly learning new ways to streamline business, motivate myself, or just make the workday a little more fun. Here are some my favorite tools that have made business better!
One of the first things I bought for my job was a mini binder. I often go to meetings where I will be doing a lot of walking and taking notes. It isn’t always convenient for me to have my laptop out trying to keep up with all the things I need to write down. I started out with a good old fashioned notebook but found that my notes were always scattered. I would have Sara’s wedding notes right up against my notes for Chris’s 40th birthday party. There was no organization, and it was difficult to go find those notes when I needed them. So I bought a mini binder to help me take notes quickly and then file them according to event! This binder from Russel and Hazel is great! The style is “Calhoun” (my last name) so obviously I’m a pretty big fan of this one. You can also purchase paper and dividers to customize it to your business needs!
A part of my job as the bridal manager is social media. I, clearly, manage our blog, but I also handle our social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook. Shameless plug: follow and like us; we’d love to be able to connect with you! I was like a lot of people starting out in a small business trying to keep up with Instagram posts; finding a photo, coming up with a caption, and posting. Our social media was inconsistent and posts weren’t as frequent as they needed to be. Then I heard about Later app, and I’m in love! I don’t know how I would ever be able to keep up with our social media without it! It allows you to take a couple of hours and schedule your social media posts for the month. It saves so much time and keeps me on track! It also recognizes your followers so you can tag them ahead of time to give out all the photo creds!
Spotify + GIRLBOSS
There’s no way I could get through a work day without some good music. I’m sure we could start a war by getting in on the Pandora or Spotify debate, but I’m here to tell you Spotify is where it’s at! I use Spotify everyday. What I listen to changes depending on my mood, but lately I’ve been getting down to the soundtrack from Netflix’s Girlboss. They cancelled the show right after the first season, so it isn’t a very long playlist. However, it is oh so good for any girl trying to get her hustle on!
