Not every girl is looking for a crazy night out to celebrate her last times as a single woman. I have been to many bachelorette parties that were low key. Sometimes we as ladies just want to relax and enjoy some time with our girls, especially after all the time and effort put into the details of wedding planning. So how can you give a bride the perfect celebration – not going overboard but not being boring either? Take her glamping!
I’m sure many of you have seen this by now. Glamping is a term combining the words glamour and camping. I personally am not a big camper, but glamping? That I can handle. It’s a form of camping that’s less, well, camp-y. I know, that sounds a little backwards. Why go camping if you’re not big on camping? But imagine gourmet s’mores, comfy seating, and delicious dinners. I’ve got some fantastic ideas for the ultimate relaxing girls retreat – glamping style!
- Cute and Comfortable
Take plenty of pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, and oversized cushions. You may be away from a sofa, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still make your outdoor adventure comfy. Pile on the throw pillows and make yourself at home! Pro tip: get your girls to bring their cutest throw pillows and blankets for an insta-worthy camp site. Or build a full camping lounge with this DIY Trunk Canopy from Brit & Co!
- Glam Camp Food
You don’t have to go for cold hot dogs roasted over a fire for the duration of your glamping trip. (There’s nothing glamorous about that)! For some extra fillers try a trail mix bar. I know I’m not the only one who can’t find a trail mix that I actually like all the ingredients. I always end up eating around or picking certain things out (looking at you, raisins). With a trail mix bar everyone can create their own custom trail mix to suit their tastes! Also, two words, gourmet s’mores. I’ve been dying to have a gourmet s’mores bash just for myself! Instead of opting for the same old chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers, get creative! Try substituting milk chocolate for dark or white chocolate. Or even throw in a Kit Kat or Reese’s, and add some extra toppings; peanut-butter, strawberries, pineapple, that delicious cookie butter from Trader Joe’s, the possibilities are endless! - Rent an RV
Forget sleeping bags, campsite restrooms (or the woods), and campfire meals altogether. Get an RV and enjoy the great outdoors with your own private, moving girl-mobile! Deck it out with edison bulb string lights, boho throw pillows, and some fresh flowers to have the ultimate girls get-away. This way you can cook up your favorite meals, sleep on actual beds, and avoid the bugs if you need too! Also, depending on the season, air-conditioning or heat never hurt anyone!
- Outdoor Activities
Plan something for everyone to do while enjoying nature. Yes, there’s the typical things, hiking, kayaking, fishing. Definitely do some of those, but how about yoga by the lake or DIY flower crowns? Nothing says “glam camp” like flower crowns! Sure, they may not be as popular at Coachella this year, but they’ll be a huge hit with your friends! Check out this tutorial so you can be prepared!
- Glam Gear
No glamping trip is complete without the proper gear. We’ve already covered getting the cute throw pillows and blankets to create a comfy and inviting feel to your campsite. But, you’ll need a few more things to take your trip from a regular camping trip to a full glam fest. Trade the typical, dull, white paper plates for some funky prints from Paper Eskimo. Bring some fresh flowers, or better yet pick some, and put in vases to take your camping site to the next level. Add a little extra ambiance with scented candles and take some folding chairs for those who aren’t into sitting on the ground. Also, a few cute DIY camping signs can make for a perfect glamping site! Check out this Lovely, Etc. tutorial to make one of your own. And don’t forget the essentials – LED lanterns, lighters, wireless speakers, portable chargers, and lots of water just to name a few. Now get your girls and get glamping!
